September 5th 2017 Newsletter – Cedar Green Monday Ladies Golf Day

What a bonus to have this great weather in September and obviously it has had an impact on our numbers, despite the long weekend. We had a total of 88 participants attend our Monday Ladies Golf Day.

This evening our format was “play your own game”, however to add fun to your round of golf we gave you a 5 foot length of string, which you could use in lieu of a putt (or putts) with the hope this bonus helped improve your score.

Due to the loss of daylight hours, our shotgun start will be at 5:15 pm effective next Monday September 12th and will continue to be at that time until the end of the season.

You can still pay for your dinner for our Wrap-up night at the clubhouse bar this week and next Monday. We are able to accommodate 150 participants in the clubhouse for our wrap up whether or not you decide to dine with us that evening. We hope you will join us to celebrate a great golf season, as once again we will have wonderful bonus prizes for those ladies who have attended 10 or more Monday Ladies Golf Days at Cedar Green and are present for the draws held on our final evening of September 19th.

Next week on Monday September 12th, we will be playing new format called a “Shamble”. Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole and recording their individual scores.

What’s fun about a Shamble format is that each person gets the benefit of the best drive, so they typically start out with a nice advantage (assuming there’s a big hitter in the group)! In either case, the format is intended to be fun and relaxing for all golfers, whether you are a beginner or experienced golfer.

You can book your starting hole for next Monday on the Sign-up Sheet that was distributed this evening or by calling the pro shop after 8:00 am on Tuesday morning at 705-560-1090.

We also extend a thank you to Brian Cattapan again for preparing a great buffet special and for the bar staff who kept our lady golfers satiated with drinks. What a great team!!!

Hope to see you all next week.
