Despite the long weekend, we had a total of 86 ladies attend our Monday Ladies Golf Day, 3 who were new participants.
This evening played a 2 person scramble in order to speed up our game with the loss of daylight.
We are happy to welcome Brian Cattapan back as the chef at Cedar Green, who prepared a great Taco Bar for this evening’s dinner special.
You can still pay for your dinner for our Wrap-up night at the clubhouse bar this week and next Monday. We are able to accommodate 140 participants in the clubhouse for our wrap up whether or not you decide to dine with us that evening. We hope you will join us to celebrate a great golf season, as once again we will have wonderful bonus prizes for those ladies who have attended 12 or more Monday Ladies Golf Days at Cedar Green and are present for the draws held on our final evening of September 18th.
Please check the attendance sheet posted on the bulletin board in the ladies locker room to ensure our records accurately reflect your participation this season. If you want a copy of the attendance record emailed to you, please contact Linda and she will send you a separate attachment to your personal email address.
Next Monday, September 11th our shotgun start will be at 5:30 pm and we will be playing the Best Drive Shamble format.
Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole and recording their individual scores.
What’s fun about a Shamble format is that each person gets the benefit of the best drive, so they typically start out with a nice advantage (assuming there’s a big hitter in the group)! In either case, the format is intended to be fun and relaxing for all golfers, whether you are a beginner or experienced golfer.
In an effort expedite registration and alleviate some of the congestion in the pro shop between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm, GolfSudbury has set up an online website where guests ONLY can pre-pay their green fees, cart fees and prizes fees one week in advance. Here is the link for next Monday, https://www.chronogolf.ca/club/17066/events/52619
If you have not had an opportunity to book your starting hole for next Monday, you can call at the pro shop 705-560-1090 and the staff will book it for you.
