It was great to see so many ladies participate in our fourth scheduled Monday Ladies Golf Night this season. We had a total of 56 participants join us this evening.
Tonight we played a new game format called a “Shamble”. Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole and recording their individual scores. It appears this format help several golfers improve their scores.
We would like to remind everyone to wait until the 6:00 pm shotgun start to begin playing your game. As well, in order to participate in the Toonie Pot you must play at the 6:00 pm Shotgun start as pro shop does not collect funds for this event. Payment can be made to a committee member located outside the pro shop, between 5:00 pm and 5:50 pm prior to playing your game.
Next Monday May 29th, at the 6:00 pm shotgun start our format is “play your own game” on the Front 9, however to add fun to your round of golf we will give you a 5 foot length of string, which you can use in lieu of a putt.
For example: If your ball is 3 feet from the hole, you stretch a length of your string from your ball to the hole, cut that length off, and your ball is considered have dropped in without a putt, thus you do not count a stroke. You should have a 2 foot length of string left which may be used on a subsequent hole.
For those of you, who were unable to book your starting hole for next Monday on the Sign-up Sheet in the clubhouse, please call the pro shop after 8:00 am on Tuesday morning at 705-560-1090.
