June 5th 2017 Newsletter – Cedar Green Monday Ladies Golf Day

It was great to see so many ladies participate in our sixth scheduled Monday Ladies Golf Night this season, despite our early evening rain-out. We had a total of 101 participants of which 6 were new golfers to our Ladies Night this season.

No doubt the lure of “Wine and Cheese Social” had an impact on or numbers this evening. We thank Sam and Karen Yawney who generously donated and poured the wine and to the Cedar Green Ladies Committee for providing the cheese and crackers, purchased with a donation from Vrab’s Your Independent Grocers.  This special occasion was intended to show appreciation for all the ladies whom have regularly supported our Monday Ladies Golf Day. It is our hope that you will continue to join us on Mondays as it is your participation that makes our weekly event a success.

Once again, our major sponsor Sam Yawney, owner Pro Golf Liquidators, has generously provided some of our prizes for our random draws tonight. As you may well know our numbers have continually grown over the past few years. Both Sam and we, as a committee, are very grateful for your participation and support.

Unfortunately, due to the weather we were unable to complete our entire round of golf, however most foursomes did manage to complete 6 holes of golf, thus rain checks for green fees will not be provided. Since we could not award prize vouchers for the 6 best scores, closest to the line or closest to the pin, we decided to do a reverse draw for the ten $30 vouchers. The names of today’s 101 participants were first placed in the draw for the 12 sponsor donated prizes then the remaining 89 names were drawn for the ten $30 vouchers. All 101 names were subsequently placed in the draw bucket for the 50/50 draw. Names of our winners are listed below.

Since we were unable to complete our game this evening and everyone did not have an opportunity to play on the toonie pot holes (#3 & #16), we have decided that the money collected this evening will be added to next week’s toonie pot and everyone who paid their $2 fee will be given a credited for next week.

Remember the Toonie Pot challenge is optional and the rules are as follows:

YOUR TEE SHOT MUST LAND WITHIN THE FLAGPOLE LENGTH ON HOLE #3 OR HOLE #16 TO WIN THE TOONIE POT.

 RULES:

  1. YOU MUST HAVE PAID $2 TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CHALLENGE
  2. YOUR TEESHOT MUST LAND WITHIN THE FLAG POLE LENGTH OF THE HOLE
  3. IF MORE THAN ONE PERSON IS WITHIN THE FLAG POLE, THEN WE SPLIT THE POT AMONGST THE WINNERS

IF WE HAVE NO WINNERS THE MONEY IN THE POT WILL BE ACCRUED AND CARRIED FORWARD TO FUTURE WEEKS
