June 25th 2018 Newsletter – Cedar Green Monday Ladies Golf

Tonight was an exceptional evening as we asked you all to bring a friend who has not yet had an opportunity to join us at Cedar Green for Monday Ladies Night Golf. This friend or family member was able to take advantage of a FREE round of golf at our 6:00 pm shotgun start, as their green fees were waived. Newbies only had to pay the $5.00 prize fee to be considered a participant in our Monday Ladies Golf Night.

This offer produced a total of 119 participants of which 7 were new golfers joining us for the first time this season. We hope this was a good experience for you all and that you will continue golfing on Monday nights at Cedar Green.

Remember golfers who participate in 12 Monday Ladies’ Golf games between May 14TH and September 24TH, will qualify for the bonus draws when they attend our Wrap-up afternoon on Saturday September 29th at a 3 pm shotgun start. Last season 118 prizes were provided by over 57 businesses in the Sudbury and Algoma region, some valued over $250. This year Sam Yawney is donating a special bonus prize of a complete Ladies golf package (golf clubs and bag), for our Wrap up Evening. As of next week there are still 13 weeks left in our season with which you could still qualify to attend our Year End Wrap-up evening.

We would like to remind everyone to review the attendance spreadsheet now available at the Toonie Pot table every Monday. We ask that you verify your attendance record to ensure that your participation and the spelling of your name are correct. This spreadsheet will be posted on the Ladies locker room bulletin board at the end of the each Monday evening.

As well, if you wish to receive our weekly Newsletter please provide your name and email address so that they may be added to our distribution list.

Next week on Monday July 2nd, we will be playing a Best Drive Shamble format.

Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole and recording their individual scores. It appears this format help several golfers improve their scores.

Our theme will be “Canada Day Celebration”. In keeping with our theme we ask that you dress in red & white. A prize will be awarded to the lady whose attire best represents the spirit of Canada Day.

Our featured drink for that evening will be Molsons Canadian beer at the discounted price of $4 per bottle.

We would like to remind you to book your starting hole on the Sign-up Sheet for next Monday when you register for Ladies night golf in the pro shop. If you did not have an opportunity to do so, you can call at the pro shop 705-560-1090 and the staff will book your starting hole for next week. If you drive a golf cart please allow the walkers the advantage of booking holes closer to the clubhouse.

Remember if you booked a hole and have decide not join us please call the pro shop to have your name removed from the sign-up sheet, as our numbers are growing every week and we have ladies on a waiting list for assigned starting holes.
