June 20th 2016 Newsletter – Cedar Green Monday Ladies Golf

Tonight was an exceptional evening as we asked you all to bring a friend who has not yet had an opportunity to join us at Cedar Green for Monday Ladies Night Golf. This friend or family member was able to take advantage of a FREE round of golf at our 6:00 pm shotgun start, as their green fees were waived.  Newbies only had to pay the $5.00 prize fee to be considered a participant in our Monday Ladies Golf Night.

As well, ladies were given FREE LIFTS from a sand trap or fairway bunker. Obviously this bonus was intended to help golfers who find their balls attracted to sand, so they could potentially save strokes on their score.

This offer produced a total of 114 participants of which 24 were new golfers joining us for the first time this season. We hope this was a good experience for you all and that you will continue golfing on Monday nights at Cedar Green.

As many of you may know, for the past few years the Cedar Green Ladies Night Golf has supported the Angels in Pink in their effort to raise money for diagnostic equipment for the Northern Cancer Treatment Centre in Sudbury. Once again we will be focusing on this initiative by sell raffle tickets for a one night stay at the Hampton Inn and a round of golf for two with cart at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Elliot Lake (valued at over $280).  Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. We will continue to sell these tickets until July 25th when we will be hosting the “Angels in Pink Night” and we will be donating all funds raised to this worthy charity.

As well, we will be hosting our annual cake auction on Monday July 11th and will be providing desserts for you sampling.  Ideally we would like 10 cakes to auction off, so if you are willing to donate a cake to our cause please email Linda Collison by email at lm_collison@hotmail.com proving a description of the cake you will be providing.

Next week on Monday June 27th, we will be playing a 2 person scramble on the front 9 with any overflow on the back 9. Our theme will be “Canada Day Celebration”. In keeping with our theme we ask that you dress in red & white. A prize will be awarded to the lady whose attire best represents the spirit of Canada Day.

You can book your starting hole on the Sign-up Sheet being distributed this evening or by calling the pro shop after 8:00 am on Tuesday morning at 705-560-1090.
