It was great to see so many ladies participate in our 8 th Monday Ladies Golf Night this season. We had a total
of 92 participants of which 5 were new golfers to our Ladies Night. In spite of Monday being an exceptionally
HOT day and being the first holiday weekend of the summer we were pleased to see so many dedicated
golfers join us this week.
Tonight we played a best drive “Shamble” format. Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee
off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball.
From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into
the hole and recording their individual scores. It appears this format help several golfers improve their scores.
Our theme this week is “Canada Day Celebration”. In keeping with our theme we asked you to dress in
red & white. A prize was awarded to the lady whose attire best represented the spirit of Canada Day.
The Ladies Committee determined that the person deemed worthy of the prize for “Best Dressed Canadian
Patriot” was Constance Paquette with the extra effort she made to show her patriotism. She was awarded a a
$50 gift certificate from What to Wear . Please enjoy some of the pictures from some of the ladies who
dressed for the occasion.
Our featured drink on this celebrated holiday was Molson’s Canadian at the discounted price of $4 for a
On July 9 th we will be playing our own game and players will be given FREE LIFTS from any water, so even if you
lose a ball in the water you will not add a stroke to your score. You can place a second ball back as far as you
want from your point of entry of the water hazard but not closer to the hole, do not count a stroke and
continue to play.
As well, our featured drink special of the evening will be a Mai Tai cooler for $5.
Ladies who golfed today were given an opportunity to book their starting hole in the pro shop by writing their
names on the Sign-up Sheet for Monday June 18 th . Those ladies who were not present or forgot to sign up for
a stating hole can still call the pro shop after 8:00 am on Tuesday morning at 705-560-1090.
