August 29th 2016 Newsletter – Cedar Green Monday Ladies Golf Day

For our eighteenth Ladies Golf day we had a total of 110 participants, of which 5 was a new golfer this season.

This past weekend Cedar Green hosted the Club Championship and we would like to congratulate Karen Raguin the 2016 Ladies Club Champion. As well, congratulations go to Maryann Zanchetta, Carole Giroux, and Hertha Corry who were at the top of their flights. All these ladies join us regularly every Monday for our Cedar Green’s Monday Ladies Golf Day.

We would like to remind everyone that they can pre-pay for their wrap-up dinner at the bar this evening and the following 2 Mondays. A buffet dinner will be served with a choice of prime rib or roasted chicken, seasonal vegetables, a choice of 2 salads, dessert with tea or coffee will be served at 7:30 pm, at a cost of $20 including tax.

All ladies are still welcome to play golf on our wrap-up night, September 19th and you will qualify for prizes for the “low gross or low net scores, closest to the pin and closest to the line” should your game warrant these prizes. However, bonus prizes donated by our sponsors valued up to $250 will be awarded to the golfers who have are credited for having golfed at least 10 games this season and are present when the bonus draws take place at our Wrap-up evening.

On our final evening our shotgun start time will be at 5:00 pm and we will be playing a 4 or 3 person scramble to ensure that we have time to complete our game before sunset.

Next Monday on September 5th, at the 5:30 pm shotgun start our format is “play your own game”, however to add fun to your round of golf we will give you a 5 foot length of string, which you can use in lieu of a putt.

For example: If your ball is 3 feet from the hole, you stretch a length of your string from your ball to the hole, cut that length off, and your ball is considered have dropped in without a putt, thus you do not count a stroke. You should have a 2 foot length of string left which may be used on a subsequent hole. You will be able to move your ball closer to the hole on another green by the length of the remaining string and again do not count that movement as a stroke, which will reduce the distance for your putt. At this point you will have used up all your string therefore your advantage will end on this hole. We will be placing a pair of scissors at each of the holes, to cut the string.

You can book your starting hole on the Sign-up Sheet being distributed this evening or by calling the pro shop after 8:00 am on Tuesday morning at 705-560-1090.
