August 1st Newsletter – Monte Vista Ladies Golf Day

Twelfth ladies night and 61 ladies enjoyed a round of golf. The morning did not look promising but the weather improved for ladies’ night. It was such a terrific day to golf… it got hotter as the day progressed.

A draw for a Ram Black and Orange Golf Bag is being held upstairs at Monte Vista and all proceeds will be donated to Northern Cancer Society and proceeds stay in Sudbury. $2 each ticket will be sold until September 26th wrap up night.

Whenever you order one of the food specials, your name is entered in a draw for your next visit in the restaurant on ladies’ night. This week’s winner is Lisa Burke! Congrats! Food is always delicious in the Summit! Thanks to Lillian and staff….they work extremely hard!

UPCOMING TOURNAMENT: House of Kin Golf Tournament, Friday, September 7th at Pine Grove Golf Club. 4 person best ball format. Registration at 9:30 am…fee is $100/player. Your $100 includes cart, 18 holes of golf, sausage on a bun for lunch and a buffet dinner and a great array of prizes. All proceeds to be directed towards the House of Kin’s Capital and Operational Projects. Sign up sheet is posted on bulletin board in entrance of Monte Vista’s golf club.

Heart & Stroke joined our ladies’ night to raise money for a very worthy cause. Guess your score and if you were 5 strokes or less, your name was added to a list to win a) a night’s stay at the Hampton Inn in North Bay b) gift certificate for Bella Vita Cucina c) 2 gift certificates for the Float Pod Spa and d) T-shirt and Duffle bag from Urban Windows and Doors. Our ladies scored very well as over 90% of the ladies guessed their score. Draw will be held mid August…keep your fingers crossed and thank you for donating. A little goes a long way!

A new division has been added but it is not considered when playing a Scramble or a Schamble:

Senior Ladies’ Division for ladies 70 and over. When paying your $5 on the sign up sheet you must indicate “SR” next to your name to be considered in this division. If you did not do so but wrote “SR” on your card, you will NOT be considered for this division.

Senior Ladies’ Closest to the Pin for ladies 70 and over. When paying your $5 on the sign up sheet you must indicate “SR” next to your name to be considered in this division. If you did not do so but wrote “SR” on your card, you will NOT be considered for this division. Closest to Pin for Senior Ladies is played every week.

NEW…EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY…if your ball is hit out of bonds (white stakes), you do not take another shot from the tee off. Proceed to the point of entry, count a stroke and shoot from there. This applies to all holes with white stakes.

TEMPORARY GREEN ON HOLE 3….once your ball lands in the circle, add a stroke and proceed to next hole. No need trying to putt until you sink the ball.

$305 was collected and as agreed upon, $1 from the $5 is kept for our year end wrap up night.

The balance of $242 is paid out by vouchers.  Here are this week’s winners of a $15 voucher:

Today we played our own game on the Back Nine and everyone was given a 2 foot string. Scissors were attached to each flag

pole. The string helped me look good and ladies let me tell you that it’s not easy to dolol…

The winners of $15 voucher are:
