Wow what a phenomenal evening we shared with a wonderful group of ladies. It was great to see so many ladies participate in our fifth scheduled Monday Ladies Golf Night this season. We had a total of 128 participants of which 16 were new golfers to our Ladies Night this season.
No doubt the lure of our FREE “Wine and Cheese Social” had an impact on our numbers this evening. We would like thank Sam and Karen Yawney who generously donated and poured the wine in the clubhouse tonight. As well, we thank the Cedar Green food / beverage staff and the Ladies Committee for providing the abundance of fruit, cheeses and crackers. This special occasion was intended to show appreciation for all the ladies whom have regularly supported our Monday Ladies Golf Day. It is our hope that you will continue to join us on Mondays as it is your participation that makes our weekly event a success.
Tonight we played a 2 person scramble format therefore the prize vouchers were awarded to the two person teams with the 8 lowest gross scores. (4 low gross on the front 9 and back 9).
This evening, it was brought to our attention that some ladies were not familiar with the rules of the toonie pot challenge and that some marked their balls as closest to the pin on the toonie pot holes #3 and #16.
Here are the rules relating to the Toonie Pot:
LAND YOUR TEESHOT WITHIN THE FLAGPOLE LENGTH ON HOLE #3 OR HOLE #16 TO WIN THE TOONIE POT.
- YOU MUST HAVE PAID $2 TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CHALLENGE
- YOUR TEESHOT MUST LAND WITHIN THE FLAG POLE LENGTH OF THE HOLE
- YOUR SHOT MUST BE WITNESSED BY SOMEONE IN YOUR FOURSOME (OR GOLF GROUP) BEFORE YOU WRITE YOUR NAME ON THE TOONIE POT SIGN ON THE DESIGNATED HOLE.
- LEAVE THE PIN ON FRING OF THE GREEN. DO NOT MOVE IT ON THE GREEN WHERE YOUR SHOT LANDED.
- IF MORE THAN ONE PERSON IS WITHIN THE FLAG POLE, THEN WE SPLIT THE POT AMONGST THE WINNERS
IF WE HAVE NO WINNERS THE MONEY IN THE POT WILL BE ACCRUDE AND CARRIED FORWARD TO FUTURE WEEKS
Next week on Monday June 18th we will be playing our own game and players will be given FREE LIFTS from any water, so even if you lose a ball in the water you will not add a stroke to your score. You can place a second ball back as far as you want from your point of entry of the water hazard but not closer to the hole, do not count a stroke and continue to play.
Ladies who golfed today were given an opportunity to book their starting hole in the pro shop by writing their names on the Sign-up Sheet for Monday June 18th. Those ladies who were not present or forgot to sign up for a stating hole can still call the pro shop after 8:00 am on Tuesday morning at 705-560-1090.
